Five people died from Covid-19 in the country over the last 24 hours, taking the death toll from the virus to 182. Besides, 688 more people tested positive to Covid-19.
With this a total of 10,143 confirmed cases have been recorded in the country so far.
Additional Director General (Admin) of the Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS) Dr Nasima Sultana revealed the information at a regular online briefing on Monday.
She said all five of the deceased were male. Of them, three were aged over sixty years, one between 50 to 60 years and one between 31 to 40 years. Three were from dhaka, one from Sylhet and the other from Mymensingh, she added.
With 147 new patients, a total of 1210 patients recovered from coronavirus till date.
Dr Nasima mentioned that a total of 6,315 samples were collected and 6,260 were tested in the last 24 hours.
Meanwhile, the total confirmed cases of the novel coronavirus infection crossed 3.5 million on Monday morning, reaching 3,506,729, according to the data provided by Johns Hopkins University.
So far, a total of 247,431 people died around the world after Covid-19, the disease caused by the new strain of coronavirus, was first reported in China in December last year.
Of the currently infected 2,163,057 patients, 2,113,016 are in mild condition, which is 98 percent, Worldometer records. 50,041 of the currently infected patients are in serious condition.
So far, 1,125,236 people have recovered.
