Info ministry officials donate Tk33 lakh for flood victims

Officials and employees of the Ministry of Information and Broadcasting and different organisations under it have donated Tk 33,83,393 to support the people affected by the severe floods.

On behalf of the ministry, the officials today handed over 15 cheques of the amount, which was equivalent to one day's salary, to Adviser Md Nahid Islam, according to a press release.

It is mentionable that with the interest of the officials and employees of the ministry, on August 25, a decision was taken to assist the flood victims by donating their one day's salary, reports BSS.

Besides, leaders of the BCS Information Association also today handed over a cheque of Tk 3 lakh to the adviser for the flood victims.

BCS Information Association President Md Zasim Uddin and General Secretary Md Shiplu Zaman were present on the occasion, among others.

ICT division officials donate Tk 29.64 lakh for flood victims

Officials and employees of the Information and Communication Technology (ICT) Division and different offices under the division have donated a total of Tk 2,964,038 to support the flood-hit people.

On behalf of the ICT Division, its officials today handed over six cheques of the amount to Adviser Md Nahid Islam, according to a press release.

It is mentionable that with the interest of the officials and employees of the ICT Division, on August 24, a decision was taken to assist the flood victims by donating their one day's salary.

Earlier, officials and employees of the Posts and Telecommunications Division (PTD) and its affiliated organisations donated Tk 1,16,81,653 to support the people affected by the severe floods.

On behalf of the PTD, the officials of the division handed over 12 cheques of the amount, which was equivalent to one day's salary, to adviser Md Nahid Islam on August 25.
