In continuation of the Global Digital Compact and Summit of the Future 2024 Bangladesh Preparation, an Inter-ministerial Coordination Meeting was convened at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs on Wednesday in a hybrid manner.
Faiyaz Murshid Kazi, director general of Multilateral Economic Affairs Wing, from New York, USA; Toufiq Islam Shatil, ndc, deputy permanent representative; Mosammat Shahanara Monica, minister; Nasir Uddin, counsellor; Md Rafiqul Alam Molla, counsellor of the Permanent Mission of Bangladesh to the United Nations, New York, USA were present there.
Md Abu Syed, director, Bangladesh Computer Council (BCC) of the Information and Communication Technology Division; Mohammed Aminul Ahesan, deputy secretary (Legal Section), RHM Alaol Kabir, senior assistant secretary, HM Asad-Uz-Zaman, strategy & innovation specialist of the Aspire to Innovate (a2i) of the Ministry of Posts, Telecommunications and Information Technology; Md Sahab Uddin, assistant secretary, Md Mahabubur Rahman, director; Farida Yasmeen, director; and Nusrat Jahan, senior assistant secretary, Ministry of Foreign Affairs participated in the meeting as well.
From the CSOs side, Hasanul Haqa Inu, chairperson; Abdul Haque Anu, secretary general; Md Shajjad Hossain, Member of the Bangladesh Internet Governance Forum (BIGF); and AHM Bazur Rahman, chief executive officer, Bangladesh NGOs Network for Radio and Communication (BNNRC) and executive coordinator, Bangladesh Initiative for Connecting, Empowering & Amplifying Unified Voices on UN Summit for the Future 2024, Bangladesh Executive Secretariat were present at the meeting.
The meeting was presided over by Faiyaz Murshid Kazi, Director General, Multilateral Economic Affairs Wing.
A range of issues relating to preparation about Global Digital Compact and Summit of the Future 2024 Bangladesh Preparation were discussed elaborately in line with the Pact for the Future: zero draft of the Summit of the Future and First Round and second round of Consultations about Global Digital Compact.
Bangladesh Initiative for Connecting, Empowering & Amplifying Unified Voices on UN Global Digital Compact & UN Summit for the Future 2024 has been initiated by the Bangladesh Internet Governance Forum (BIGF) and Bangladesh NGOs Network for Radio and Communication (BNNRC) since 2022.
