Intercity train services will resume from May 31 and will be operated through selling 50 percent of the tickets till June 15, the government has decided.
Railways Minister Md Nurul Islam Sujan revealed the information on Thursday.
He said in order to give the passengers a chance to maintain distance from each other while travelling, the decision to sell 50 percent ticket has been made.
A meeting will be held in this regard on May 30, the minister added.
The government has decided to allow limited operation of public transport, State Minister for Public Administration Farhad Hossain said Wednesday.
All modes of public transport – buses, trains and vessels – will have to maintain health guidelines, Hossain said.
