Dr Mohammad Abdur Rahim, director of Institute of Public Health (IPH), has been made officer on special duty (OSD) days after he issued a circular asking employees at his office to follow specific dress code.
Tanvir Ahmed Chowdhury has been made the new director of IPH, Health Secretary Abdul Mannan confirmed the media on Tuesday.
The Health Ministry has issued a gazette notification in this regard, said the secretary.
Abdur Rahim recently issued an official circular asking Muslim male employees to wear clothes above the ankle and female employees to wear hijab and dresses that go below the ankle in length during office time which triggered huge criticism.
