Police have detained Jamaat-e-Islami Secretary General Mia Golam Parwar and eight other party members.
They were detained from the capital’s Bashundhara residential area on Monday, confirmed deputy commissioner of police Gulshan Division MD Asaduzzaman.
"Police conducted a raid and arrested them upon receiving information that a secret meeting to plot sedition and destabilize the country was taking place in the area," said, Rafiqul Haque, Inspector of Bhatara police station.
