Law, Justice and Parliamentary Affairs Minister Anisul Huq has said the government is set to ban Jamaat-e-Islami through an executive order by tomorrow.
“We would do that through an executive order,” the minister said while talking to newsmen at the ministry on Tuesday noon, reports BSS.
Anisul said he would hold a meeting with the Home Minister to fix the process.
The law minister said this a day after the Awami League-led 14-party alliance unanimously recommended the ban of Jamaat-e-Islami and Islami Chhatra Shibir.
Awami League (AL) General Secretary Obaidul Quader told this to journalists after coming out of the meeting at the Ganabhaban, presided over by AL President Sheikh Hasina.
