Japanese envoy, observers praise Bangladesh’s fair election

Japanese Ambassador to Bangladesh Iwama Kiminori including the election observation team from Japan expressed gratitude to the Election Commission for conducting a fair election in Bangladesh, Chief Election Commissioner (CEC) Kazi Habibul Awal said.

The CEC said this while talking to journalists at the EC secretariat after holding a meeting with the ambassador and team of poll observers headed by the former Japanese ambassador Watanabe Masato, reports BSS.

Having observed multiple polling centres, they commend the election as an exemplary model. The professionalism of the country's polling agents is also acknowledged, Awal added.

He mentioned that. Japan pledges spontaneous technical assistance for future elections in Bangladesh if required. The observers will present their comprehensive opinion in a forthcoming report.
