Jatiya Party lawmaker Masuda M Rashid Chowdhury passed away in Dhaka early Monday at the age of 70.
The member of parliament for reserved seats for women breathed her last at her residence at Moghbazar around 3:30am.
Confirming the matter, Jatiya Party Office Secretary MA Razzak Khan said she had been suffering from various diseases for long.
Masuda, also a presidium member of the party, left behind a son and relatives along with well-wishers to mourn her death.
Ghulam Muhammed Quader, Jatiya Party chairman and deputy leader of the opposition, expressed deep shock and sorrow at the demise of Masuda Rashid.
