JBCCI holds AGM

Japan-Bangladesh Chamber of Commerce and Industry (JBCCI) held its 16th annual general meeting (AGM) at the capital’s Six Seasons Hotel.

Some 38 officials attended the programme in person while 45 others joined it virtually, said a press release on Sunday.

On the occasion, the JBCCI board of directors and former presidents formally recognized the life-long contribution and cooperation of its honorary Executive Director AKM Moazzem Hussain. He was awarded with a crest of gratitude.

In his 17.5 years of service to JBCCI, AKM Moazzem paved way for the organization to appear as a renowned trade body among its peers.

Among other directors, Maria Howlader, a member of the JBCCI’s Government Facilitation and Policy Advocacy Committee, was also present at the event and delivered a short appreciation to JBCCI's activities.

She said that JBCCI's contribution to promote bilateral trade relation between Japan and Bangladesh is very important.

At the same time, she emphasized on arranging seminars and workshops on VAT, Tax related issues.
