Noted journalist Shaheen Reza Noor, son of martyred journalist Sirajuddin Hossain, died on Saturday while undergoing treatment at a Vancouver hospital in Canada.
He was 66.
He breathed his last around 10am Bangladesh time at the hospital.
Shaheen was undergoing chemotherapy for pancreatic cancer. Before that, he recovered from colon cancer.
He worked for the daily Ittefaq for a long time.
Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina expressed deep shock and sorrow at the death of Shaheen.

In a message of condolence, the premier said, “His contribution to implement the spirit of the Liberation War and to the mass movement demanding trial of the war criminals will be remembered with due honour.”
Sheikh Hasina also prayed for eternal peace of the departed soul and conveyed profound sympathy to the bereaved family.
