The Aviation and Tourism Journalists Forum of Bangladesh (ATJFB) has officially boycotted the "Meet the Press" event of Biman Bangladesh Airlines, which was scheduled to be held on Thursday.

ATJFB President Nadira Kiran and General Secretary Tanjim Anwar said that Biman Bangladesh Airlines has been working with aviation journalists for a long time. The forum has been protesting the non-cooperation, disrespectful remarks and behaviour of Biman officials.

In this regard, Biman's managing director and officials at various levels have been requested many times by the journalists’ forum to remedy this situation. Despite ATJFB's sincerity in resolving the issue for a long time, there have been repeated instances of non-cooperation, and discourteous behaviour on the part of Biman, which is disappointing, they said.

On September 22, journalists went to the Biman Bangladesh Airlines head office to collect information about the allegations of theft of dollars from the luggage of a Bangladesh National Women's Football Team member. However, the Biman staff behaved discourteously to them, they said.

ATJFB's president and secretary also said that the organisation decided to protest against the non-cooperation as well as disrespectful remarks and behaviour of the Biman authorities towards journalists. They boycotted the Biman’s "Meet the Press" event.
