A journalist died this morning with coronavirus-like symptoms while waiting in a queue for providing samples for coronavirus test.
The deceased, M Mizanur Rahman Khan, was a senior photojournalist of Daily Bangladesh Khabor and joint-secretary of Bangladesh Photojournalist Association.
Shamim Ahmed, a member of Bangladesh Photojournalist Association and Mizanur's co-worker, confirmed the matter to The Business Post.
According to Shamim and the other journalists present at the scene, Mizanur went to Dhaka Reporters Unity for the Covid-19 test. While waiting in the queue, he suddenly fell ill and fainted.
Later, members and officials of DRU took him to Dhaka Medical College Hospital, where the duty doctor pronounced him dead on arrival.
