Prothom Alo senior reporter Rozina Islam was taken to Kashimpur Women's Central Jail in Gazipur after a Dhaka court rejected her bail plea on Tuesday.
Dhaka Metropolitan Magistrate Mohammad Jasim ordered to send her to jail after rejecting a remand plea for her.
Rozina was brought to Kashimpur Jail by a prison van around 3:15 pm.
Rozina’s husband Monirul Islam Mithu, who was seen along with other family members in front of the jail, said that Rozina’s physical condition was not good and required treatment.
The journalist was arrested on Monday in a case filed by the health ministry under the Official Secrets Act.
Her bail hearing is scheduled for May 20.
