Twenty-fourth meeting of the Parliamentary Standing Committee on Ministry of Social Welfare was held on Thursday at the Jatiya Sangsad (JS) Bhaban with committee chairman Rashed Khan Menon in the chair.
The committee at the meeting recommended proper inquiry while recognising and including schools for differently abled children in light of Integrated Special Education Policy-2019.
It also decided to establish one school in each district for differently abled children and go through grading system after proper scrutiny for other schools which have applied to be included in the list.
Social Welfare Minister Nuruzzaman Ahmed, State Minister Md Ashraf Ali Khan Khasru, Nasrin Jahan Rotna, Bodruddoja Md Farhad Hossain, AKM Sarwar Jahan and Qazi Kanij Sultana attended the meeting, among others.
Additional secretary of Ministry of Social Welfare, Director General of Department of Social Services, other senior officials of the ministry and parliament secretariat also attended the meeting, among others.
