The Parliamentary Standing Committee on the Ministry of Liberation War Affairs Sunday discussed the revised policy on free of cost diagnosis of the freedom fighters at the specialized government hospitals.
The committee asked the ministry concerned to present the policy in the next meeting as the policy has fixed medicine cost of the freedom fighters at Tk 75,000, increasing it from Tk 50,000.
The JS body came up with the issue at the 19th meeting of the committee held at the Jatiya Sangsad Bhaban in Dhaka.
Committee members Liberation War Affairs Minister AKM Mozammel Huq, Razi Uddin Ahmed, Maj (retd) Rafiqul Islam, Kazi Feroz Rashid, Waresat Hossain Belal, and Moslem Uddin Ahmed took part in the meeting. Committee Chairman Shahjahan Khan presided over the meeting.
The meeting also discussed and find out possible sources behind constituting the ‘Muktijoddah Complex Fund’ to raise other benefits of the freedom fighters including rehabilitations of the wounded freedom fighters.
A six-member parliamentary sub-committee was formed headed by the committee chairman as its convener to fix up celebrations of the Mujib Borsho (Mujib Year) and the golden jubilee of independence.
