Justice Hasan Foez Siddique has been appointed as the country's 23rd Chief Justice.
President Md Abdul Hamid will administer oath to him at Bangabhaban after issuance of the gazette notification regarding the appointment.
Justice Siddique will replace the outgoing Chief Justice Syed Mahmud Hossain, who will be retiring on the last day of this year.
After serving as a High Court Division judge from 2009, he was elevated to the Appellate Division of the Supreme Court in 2013.
