The government has appointed Water Resources Senior Secretary Kabir Bin Anwar as the cabinet secretary.
The Ministry of Public Administration issued a notification in this regard on Sunday.
The order will come into effect immediately, it added.
Kabir replaces Khandker Anwarul Islam who joined as the cabinet secretary on October 28, 2019.
Kabir joined civil service on February 15, 1988, as an assistant commissioner. In his long career, he served the Ministry of Foreign affairs as assistant secretary, Embassy of Bangladesh, The Hague, Netherlands, as first secretary, Finance Division as senior assistant secretary, Ministry of Home Affairs as deputy secretary.
He also served the Prime Minister’s Office as the director general (admin). Kabir had been working as the senior secretary of the water resources ministry since 2018.
