The assistant commissioner (land) of Kalapara upazila in Patuakhali district was injured in an attack by some muggers in the CNB area on the Dhaka-Aricha highway in Savar on Monday night.
The injured is Abu Bakar Siddique, son of Kamal Uddin of Mirzapur upazila in Tangail district.
Deepak Chandra Saha, officer-in-charge of Savar Model Police Station, said Abu Bakar came here to participate in a training programme.
A group of muggers swooped on Abu Bakar when he was passing through the CNB area in the night and snatched the money and a mobile phone.
The muggers also stabbed him indiscriminately, leaving him injured.
Later, he was taken to Enam Medical College and Hospital.
Police are trying to arrest the attackers, said OC.
