A fire that broke out on the fourth floor of a nine-storey building in the city’s Elephant Road area, has been brought under control.
Firefighters were alerted to the incident at 7:30pm on Monday and the first unit reached the spot around 7:35pm, according to the Fire Service and Civil Defence media cell.
Ten firefighting units tamed the blaze at 9:23pm, it added.
Six dwellers of the building were rescued, it said, adding that a firefighter got injured in the incident and was sent to a hospital.
