Amid the growing presence of digital media, a new newspaper named “Khaborer Kagoj” began its journey on Sunday, promising it will have a versatile presence without compromising with facts and objectivity.

“We want a very well-edited newspaper,” said its editor Mostofa Kamal seeking cooperation from all to make their journey successful.

He said the newspaper will have a versatile presence taking advantage of digital platforms and its online version will have an English version, too.

“But you should not miss the print version,” Kamal said in a video message, adding that they can go a long way if everyone cooperates with them.

The number of daily newspapers in the country is now over 1,277. According to data placed in Parliament, the number of dailies with more than one lakh circulation is 48 in the country.

The top 10 Bangla dailies are Bangladesh Protidin, Prothom Alo, Kalerkantha, Jugantor, Ittefaq, Amader Somoy and Janakantha, Samakal, Sangbad, and Bhorer Kagoj.

The Daily Star, The Financial Express, The Business Standard, Daily Sun, Dhaka Tribune, the Daily Observer and The Business Post are among the top English dailies, it said.
