Police on Tuesday night arrested private television channel NTV’s Khulna bureau chief Abu Tayeb Munshi in a case filed by city mayor Talukder Abdul Khaleque under the Digital Security Act.
The officer-n-charge of Khulna police station, Ashraful Islam, told reporters Khaleque filed the case on Tuesday evening and they arrested Tayeb from his Nurnagar residence in Khulan city around 10:00 pm.
The OC said Tayeb recently gave a post on his Facebook over mayor Khaleque. In the post, mayor Kaleque was accused of evading tax at Mongla port. The mayor in his case claimed that the post was libellous.
