A student of Khulna University of Engineering and Technology (KUET) died after falling off a moving train at Joypurhat railway station on Friday morning.
The deceased was identified as Rahul, 24, son of Shahriar Rais, a resident of Kalipara village in Shibganj upazila of Bogura. Rahul was a third-year student in the Department of Leather Engineering.
Railway police sources said the student was coming to Joypurhat from Khulna by the intercity train, Simanta Express.
He was crushed under the train and died on the spot as he tried to get down hurriedly from the train before it properly stopped at the station.
