Parliament member of Kurigram-3 constituency MA Matin was diagnosed with the novel coronavirus infection on Friday.
Ulipur Upazila Health and Family Planning Officer Dr Subhash Chandra Sarkar confirmed the matter.
Upazila Health Department collected Matin’s sample as he had been suffering from fever and breathing complications for the past few days, Matin’s relatives said.
His Covid-19 test report came out 'positive' from Rangpur Medical College Hospital on Friday.
Bangladesh has so far confirmed 239,860 coronavirus cases and 3,132 deaths.
