Lamiya Morshed, the executive director of Yunus Center, has been appointed on a contractual basis as the principal coordinator for SDGs at the Chief Adviser’s Office.

According to a notification, issued by the Ministry of Public Administration on Wednesday, “Lamiya Morshed has been appointed as Principal Coordinator for SDGs with the rank of senior secretary and other benefits.

Her tenure shall be last as long as that of the chief adviser or subject to his satisfaction (whichever occurs earlier). Other terms and conditions of this appointment shall be stipulated in the approved contract.

The notification added that the remaining term of former senior secretary Akhtar Hossain, who was the principal coordinator of SDG affairs, has been terminated.

Lamiya Morshed is the daughter of former foreign secretary (1989) and ambassador Ali Qaiser Hasan Morshed.

In a separate notification, the government had terminated the contractual appointments of ten secretaries, including the chairman of National Board of Revenue (NBR).

The interim government Advisory Council took eight decisions last Sunday. There is also a decision to cancel all contractual appointments in various posts. A list of contractually appointed persons is being prepared for this purpose.

Among these appointments, those belonging to controversial individuals will be terminated immediately, and all such contracts will be terminated gradually.
