Landmine explosion injures Bangladeshi on Myanmar border

A Bangladeshi man was injured in a landmine explosion inside Myanmar on the Jamchhari border along Bandarban's Naikhyangchhari on Monday.  The injured was identified as Shona Ali, 65.

According to the locals, the explosion occurred at around 3pm when Shona Ali was bringing back his cows from inside Myanmar through the area between border pillars 46 and 47. Several parts of his body including the legs were injured.

Locals first took Shona Ali to Naikhyangchhari Upazila Health Complex. From there, he was referred to Cox’s Bazar Sadar Hospital for better treatment.

Confirming the incident. Bandarban Sadar Union Parishad Chairman Nurul Absar Emon said the injured was being treated in the Cox’s Bazar Sadar Hospital.
