Two Rohingyas were killed in separate landslides in Cox’s Bazar camps on Saturday.
The deceased were identified as Rahim Ullah, 35, from Balukhali camp in Ukhia and Nur Hasina, 20, from Chakmarkul camp in Teknaf.
In Ukhia, Rahim was killed in a landslide while extracting soil around 10:30am, said the law enforcers.
Armed Police Battalion members recovered the body and handed it over to camp authorities.
In Teknaf, Hasina was severely injured in a landslide. She was rushed to a hospital where doctors pronounced her dead.
Mohammad Shamsud Douza, additional refugee relief and repatriation commissioner in Cox's Bazar, confirmed both incidents.
He said that they are trying to find out the causes of landslides.
The Rohingya are a stateless Muslim minority from Myanmar. Bangladesh is currently hosting over a million Rohingyas. Recently, the government began relocating them to Bhasan Char Island from Cox's Bazar in phases.
