A legal notice has been served to CEO of YouTube Susan Diane Wojcicki seeking response over "false, fabricated, baseless, frivolous and offensive content" in a YouTube channel named '15 Minutes' against former director of Ekushey TV (ETV) and former Air Force officer Dr Md Jahidul Islam.
Confirming the matter to The Business Post, Supreme Court lawyer Advocate Md Safayeat Hossain Sajeeb said he had sent the legal notice on Monday (November 16) on behalf of Md Jahidul Islam.
The legal notice said that YouTube channel '15 Minutes', directed by Elias Hossain, cast newslike content about Md Jahidul Islam which are false, fabricated and also use obscene language.
The notice elaborated that no contact was made with Md Jahidul Islam to verify the truthiness before publishing the content. Besides, Jahidul Islam tried to contact Elias Hossain but he did not respond.
The notice further said Elias Hossain was already convicted in several cases including pornography from various courts of Bangladesh and is currently a fugitive.
The notice sought response from the authorities concerned regarding this matter within 30 days. Otherwise, Md Jahidul Islam will file defamation case 50 lakh US dollars against YouTube channel authority and authority will be liable for consequences.
