Legislative and Parliamentary Affairs Division secy dies of Covid-19

Naren Das, secretary of the Legislative and Parliamentary Affairs Department, died of coronavirus at Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujib Medical University Hospital (BSMMUH) at 7:15 pm on Tuesday while undergoing treatment.

Earlier on July 7, Naren Das was was tested Covid-19 positive after he got admitted to BSMMUH on July 5 with fever and shortness of breath. 

In seperate condolence messages, President Abdul Hamid and Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina wished peace to the departed soul and conveyed deep sympathy to the bereaved family members.
 
State Minister for Public Administration Farhad Hossain has expressed deep grief over the death of the Secretary of the Legislative and Parliamentary Affairs Department.
 
In a condolence message, the state minister said, "He was a hardworking, honest, efficient and meritorious officer. He was a dedicated worker for the country and the people. In his death, the country lost a meritorious official"
 
Incidentally, his wife, infected with Covid-19, is also undergoing treatment at BSMMUH.
 
On November 3, 2019, Naren Das became the Secretary of the Legislative and Parliamentary Affairs Department of the Ministry of Law, Justice and Parliamentary Affairs.
