Light to moderate rain or thundershowers accompanied by temporary gusty wind is likely to occur in different parts of the country, a met release said today.

Light to moderate rain or thundershowers accompanied by temporary gusty wind is likely to occur at a few places over Chattogram and Sylhet divisions and at one or two places over Rangpur, Rajshahi, Dhaka, Mymensingh, Khulna and Barishal divisions with moderately heavy falls at isolated places over the country, it said.

Day temperature may rise slightly and night temperature may remain nearly unchanged over the country.

The southwest monsoon has withdrawn from the northern part of the country. Conditions are likely favourable for further withdrawal of the South-west monsoon from the remaining part of Bangladesh.

Monsoon is less active elsewhere over Bangladesh and weak over North Bay.

The country's maximum temperature on Wednesday was recorded at 33.4 degrees Celsius at Jashore and the minimum temperature today was 22.2 degrees Celsius at Tetulia.

Maximum rainfall for the last 24 hours till 6:00 am today was recorded 87 millimetres (mm) at Dimla.
