Bangladesh Meteorological Department (BMD) on Friday forecasted light to moderate rainfall at different places across the country for the next 24 hours beginning from 9am.
“Light to moderate rain or thundershowers accompanied by temporary gusty wind is likely to occur at a few places over Sylhet division and at one or two places over Rangpur, Rajshahi, Mymensingh, Dhaka, Khulna, Barishal and Chattogram divisions with moderately heavy falls at places over the country”, the BMD said in its latest weather bulletin.
Monsoon trough runs through Bihar, West Bengal to Assam across the central part of Bangladesh.
The monsoon is fairly active over Bangladesh and weak to moderate over North Bay.
The country’s maximum temperature was recorded 35 degrees Celsius at Mongla yesterday (Thursday) and the minimum temperature was recorded 23.8 degrees Celsius at Sylhet today.
Maximum rainfall for the last twenty-four hours till 6am Friday was recorded 24 millimetres (mm) at Sylhet.
Day and night temperatures may remain nearly unchanged over the country.
