Atiqul Islam, an assistant loco master, was injured in a collision between a freight train carrying oil and a covered van on the Goods Port Yard (CGPY) route in Chittagong port on Thursday.
The accident occurred on the railway line adjacent to Labour Colony of CGPY this afternoon, said Aman Ullah Aman, chief inspector of the Railway Security Force.
He said the train was coming from the airport to CGPY, carrying oil from Padma, Meghna and Jamuna Oil Companies.
Later, a covered van hit the train on the railway line adjacent to Labor Colony, leaving ALM Atiqul injured.
"The covered van was seized, and its driver was detained," the security inspector added.
