Maj Gen Faizur Rahman appointed DGFI chief

Major General Md Faizur Rahman has been appointed as the new director general of the Directorate General of Defense Intelligence (DGFI). The Inter-Services Public Relations Directorate (ISPR) made the disclosure in a press release on Monday.

The notification added that Major General Md Nasim Pervez has been appointed as the commandant at MIST, and Major General Abdul Motaleb Sajjad Mahmud is the new director general of Ansar and VDP.

Last Tuesday, several top positions of the army got reshuffled and one person was terminated. A notification signed by Lieutenant Colonel Sami-Ud-Dowla Chowdhury mentioned that Major General Ziaul Ahsan has been relieved from service.

The notification further stated that Lieutenant General Md Saiful Alam's duties have been transferred to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

In addition, Lieutenant General Md Mojibur Rahman was appointed as GOC Army Training and Doctrine Command; Lt Gen Ahmad Tabrez Shams Chowdhury as Quartermaster General of Army; Lt Gen Mizanur Rahman Shamim as Chief of General Staff of Army; Lt Gen Mohammad Shahinul Haque as Commandant NDC; and Major General ASM Ridwanur Rahman as Director General of NTMC.
