Police have arrested a man from Golapganj upazila in Sylhet in a case filed for threatening content creator Ashraful Alom alias Hero Alom on his mobile phone.
The arrestee, Abu Ahmed, 25, is the son of Faisal Bari of Dakshinbhag (Tiranga) area of Bhadeshwar union of the upazila.
Golapganj Police arrested him from his house on Tuesday afternoon.
Quoting Golapganj Police Station Officer-in-Charge (OC) Md Rafiqul Islam and Assistant Media Officer of the district police Shyamal Banik said, “Abu Ahmed was arrested in the case filed by Hero Alom at Hatirjheel Police Station, that a man had threatened to kill him during a call to his mobile phone.”
Abu confessed to making threats during primary interrogation after his arrest, he said.
Abu's mobile phone was seized and he has been kept in the custody of Golapganj Model Police Station, said Shyamal.
The arrestee will be produced before a court on Wednesday, he said.
