Customs officials arrested a man along with 28 gold bars weighing around 3kg at Shah Amanat International Airport in Chattogram on Sunday.
The arrested was identified as Shofi Alam, a passenger of Biman Bangladesh Airlines flight.
Acting on a tip-off, a team of Customs Intelligence and National Security Intelligence (NSI) conducted a drive at a Biman Bangladesh Airlines flight which came from Dubai this morning and seized the gold bars from Shofi Alam around 10:20am, said Customs Deputy Commissioner Niamul Hasan.
"The bars were found inside the luggage of Shofi Alam," he said.
Legal action will be taken in this regard, he added.
