A man was killed after being hit by a train in Khilkhet area of Dhaka Sunday morning.
Jahangir Khan, sub-inspector (SI) of Khilkhet police station confirmed the matter.
He said on information that a man received serious injuries after being hit by a train at Khilkhet Bazar rail crossing at around 6:00am Sunday, police rescued him from the scene.
He was rushed to the emergency department of Dhaka Medical College and Hospital (DMCH) around 7:00am where the on-duty doctor declared him dead, the SI said.
The identity of the deceased could not be known immediately. However, police believe he was a floating resident of the Khilkhet area and was aged around 50.
The body was kept in the morgue of DMCH, SI Jahangir added.
