A Gaibandha court on Wednesday sentenced a man to death in an Anti-Narcotics case filed in 2018.
The convict is Sree Robi Das, supervisor of Nawsha Paribahan and son of Bechu Ram Das.
District and Sessions Judge Court Judge Dilip Kumar Bhowmik handed down the verdict in presence of the convict in the dock.
The court also fined him Tk 1 lakh.
Public Prosecutor Faruk Ahmed stood for the state and Advocate Masudur Rahman Bhowmik represented the accused.
Public Prosecutor Faruk Ahmed said police arrested bus supervisor Robi on November 4, 2018 after they seized 430 gm heroin from Bogura -bound Nawsha Paribahan bus.
Later, police filed a case against him under the Narcotics Control Act with Polashbari Police Station.
