A man has killed his wife and son by slitting their throats on suspicion of extramarital affair in Ghoradia Sangeeta area of Narsingdi Sadar upazila.
Police have arrested the husband Fakhrul Mia.
The incident took place around 3:00am on Monday. The deceased were identified as Reshmi Akhter, 26, and her 18-month-old son Salman Safayat.
“Fakhrul used to suspect that Reshmi had an extramarital affair and ended up murdering her and their son,” Narsingdi Sadar police station Officer-in-Charge Saugatul Alam said.
“My daughter was mentally and physically tortured by her husband since marriage. We didn’t know that Fakhrul was a drug addict. Now, I want justice for my daughter and grandson,' Reshmi Akhter’s father Parvez Mia said.
