A rickshaw van driver was stabbed to death in an attack allegedly by miscreants in the capital’s Panthapath area early Friday.
Faruk Hossain, 26, used to live with his wife Firoza Begum at a slum in Kawran Bazar area.
The victim’s wife said the criminals indiscriminately stabbed her husband with sharp weapons on his way to Panthapath around 12:30am, leaving him critically injured.
He was rushed to Dhaka Medical College Hospital (DMCH) where physicians declared him dead upon arrival, Firoza Begum said.
Md Bachhu Miah, an inspector of the DMCH police outpost, said the body has been kept at the hospital morgue for autopsy.
