A man was stabbed to death by his rivals over previous enmity at Shimakhali villlage in Sadar upazila of Narail district on Saturday night.
The deceased is Liakat Hossain, 56, a transport worker and son of Shohrab Shikdar of the village.
Quoting local people, Shawkat Kabir, officer-in-charge of Sadar Police Station, said a group of people swooped on Liakat and stabbed him indiscriminately around 8 pm, leaving him critically injured.
Later, he was taken to local hospital where doctors declared him dead.
Additional police have been deployed in the area to avert further trouble.
