The results of the MBBS admission test for the 2023-24 academic year in government and private medical colleges across Bangladesh were published on Sunday.

Out of 1,02,369 students appearing in the exam, only 49,923 passed. The pass rate is 47.83 per cent, said Health and Family Welfare Minister Dr Samanta Lal Sen while announcing the results at the Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS) conference room.

“Women outperformed the men in the admission test,” said the minister.

Tanzim Muntaka Sorba, a student of Holy Cross College, secured the top position with 92.5 marks.

Secretary to the Health and Family Welfare Ministry Azizur Rahman, BMA President Dr Mostafa Jalal Mohiuddin, Director General of DGHS ABM Khurshid Alam and Director General of Directorate Education Prof Titu Mia were present at the event.

Students can check the results at https://result.dghs.gov.bd/mbbs/. Apart from this, the results can also be found on the website of Directorate General of Medical Education (DGME). The results of successful candidates will be notified via SMS to the mobile numbers provided during the application process.

The admission test was held on Friday at 44 venues in 19 centres across the country where 1,04,374 students filled up forms and out of them, 98 per cent appeared in the exam. On the basis of national merit, students were selected for 5,380 seats in 37 government medical colleges and 6,295 seats in 67 private medical colleges in the country.
