Awami League MP Md Faridul Haque Khan has taken oath as state minister for religious affairs.
The oath-taking ceremony was held at Bangabhaban at 7:00pm on Tuesday, according to a PR official of the President.
Internal sources at Bangabhaban confirmed that Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina was absent in the ceremony
President Abdul Hamid administered the new state minister's oath-taking ceremony while the cabinet secretary conducted it, he said.
Only three ministers and few other concerned officials were present in the ceremony due to Covid-19.
Md Faridul Haque Khan is a hree-time lawmaker from Jamalpur-2 constituency. He succeeded Sheikh Mohammad Abdullah, who died on June 14 after having cardiac arrest at the age of 75.
