Meat sellers in Sylhet went on a indefinite strike on Thursday morning, protesting the recent prices fixed by Sylhet City Corporation (SCC).
They also announced that they will not sell meat untill their demands were met.
Recently, Sylhet City Corporation (SCC) fixed Tk 800 per kg for beef and Tk 650 per kg for mutton in metropolitan areas.
However, meat sellers said that they were unable to sell at SCC fixed rate as they bought their cattle at a much higher rate.
