Several hundred students from various medical and dental colleges blocked the key Shahbagh intersection in Dhaka to press home demands including introduction of online classes and session-jam free academic years.
The protesters, united under the banner of ‘General students of MBBS and BDS Course’, blocked the road around noon, halting vehicular movement at the key intersection.
Their demands include taking immediate steps to end session jam, seeking directives for online classes for the next course, not to take extra fees (more than 60 months or 48 months under old curriculum) from the MBBS/BDS students and refraining from taking professional examinations considering the students' safety.
The medical and dental college students have been demonstrating for the last several days to force the authorities to accept their demands.
