Md Mehmood Husain has joined National Bank Limited, the country's first generation private bank, as the managing director and chief executive officer.
He has previously served as managing director and CEO of NRB Bank, president and managing director of Bank Asia and additional managing director and chief business officer at Prime Bank, said a press release on Monday.
Mehmood also served as the director of Lanka Bangla Finance Limited and Lanka Bangla Securities Limited and the chairman of Lanka Bangla Asset Management Company Limited.
He joined National Bank Ltd as a probationary officer in 1984 after obtaining master's degree in Economics from Dhaka University and held important positions in various divisions including branch manager till 1997.
Mehmood has participated in many professional trainings, workshops and seminars at home and abroad. He is a life member of Association of Bankers Bangladesh (ABB) and Bangladesh Economic Association.
