The people of Argentina and the country's football governing body, the Argentine Football Association (AFA), were delighted to receive the huge support of Argentina fans in Bangladesh throughout the Qatar World Cup from thousands of miles away.
In this regard, AFA President Claudio Tapia invited the Honorary Consul of Bangladesh in Argentina Leandro Gabardi and conveyed the thanks of the Argentina national team and its association to the fans of Bangladesh on Tuesday, reports Argentinian media Clarin.
In addition to the reopening of the Argentine embassy in Bangladesh, the messages from the players thanking them for their accompaniment and joy while progressing in the World Cup, was added to the push of Argentine fans who even turned to social networks to return that support to the National Cricket Team, which even achieved historic results at the same time.
Gabardi was in the presidential office of the Ezeiza property for about 20 minutes, where they talked about the experiences and the white-blue fanaticism expressed by the Asian country during the World Cup.
"Claudio Tapia showed his gratitude on behalf of the national team to all the people of Bangladesh for the constant support during the tournament and his passionate way of expressing it on the streets of Bangladesh," he added.
The madness that was experienced in Bangladesh for each game of the Argentine National Team was news not only in our country but throughout the world.
Once Lionel Messi managed to lift the trophy on Qatari soil, Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina sent a letter of congratulations to Argentina President Alberto Fernández.
"The people of Bangladesh have shown their admiration and love through the spontaneous celebration of the World Cup victory of their national football team," Gabardi added.
"We want to bring Messi to Bangladesh," said Bangladesh's ambassador to Brazil Sadia Faizunnesa in dialogue with the Télam news agency.
In this sense, the ambassador assured that there is a historical connection between Bangladesh and Argentina. "When we declared independence in 1971, Argentina recognised it very soon," she recalled, and assured that the figure of Diego Maradona was key to generating this fanaticism of the Asian country for South American football.
