Bangladesh Meteorological Department on Friday predicted that light to moderate rain or thundershowers accompanied by temporary gusty wind may occur at many places of the country in 24 hours till 9:00am Saturday.
Light to moderate rain or thundershowers accompanied by temporary gusty wind is likely to occur at many places over Rangpur, Mymensingh and Sylhet divisions and at a few places over Rajshahi, Dhaka, Khulna, Barishal and Chattogram divisions during the time, a Met office (BMD) release said.
Moderately heavy to heavy falls, however, is likely to occur at isolated places over the northern part of the country during the period, it said.
Day and night temperatures may rise slightly over the country.
The highest temperature on Thursday was recorded at 34.5 degrees Celsius at Mongla in Khulna and Friday's minimum temperature was 24.5 degrees Celsius at Tangail and Ishurdi in Dhaka and Rajshahi divisions respectively.
Maximum rainfall in the last 24 hours till 6:00am Friday was recorded 131 millimetres (mm) at Tarash in Rajshahi division.
The sun sets at 6:21pm on Friday and rises at 5:39am on Saturday in Dhaka.
