Met office predicts light to moderate rain

Bangladesh Meteorological Department (BMD) on Sunday predicted that light to moderate rain or thundershowers accompanied by temporary gusty or squally wind may occur in different parts of the country in 24 hours as of 9:00 am on Monday.

"Light to moderate rain or thundershower with temporary gusty or squally wind is likely to occur at many places over Khulna, Barishal, Chattogram, and Sylhet divisions and at a few places over Rangpur, Rajshahi, Dhaka, and Mymensingh divisions with moderately heavy to heavy falls at some places over the country," said a met office bulletin issued here.

Monsoon is fairly active over Bangladesh and moderate elsewhere over North Bay, it added.

However, the day and night temperature may remain nearly unchanged over the country.

Country's maximum temperature on Saturday was recorded 36.5 degrees Celsius at Rajshahi and Sunday's minimum temperature 25.0 degrees Celsius was jointly at Netrokona, Rangamati and Hatiya.

The highest rainfall during the last 24 hours till 6:00am on Sunday was recorded 38 mm in Tetulia.

The sun sets at 6:50 pm on Sunday and rises at 5:15 am on Monday in the capital.
