Bangladesh Meteorological Department (BMD) on Tuesday predicted that light to moderate rain or thundershowers accompanied by temporary gusty wind and lightning flashes may occur in different parts of the country in 24 hours as of 9:00am Wednesday.
"Light to moderate rain or thundershower with temporary gusty or squally wind is likely to occur at many places over Rangpur, Mymensingh, Chattogram, and Sylhet divisions; at a few places over Dhaka and Barishal divisions and at one or two places over Rajshahi and Khulna divisions with moderately heavy to heavy falls at some places over Rangpur, Mymensingh, Chattogram and Sylhet divisions," said a met office bulletin issued in Dhaka.

Monsoon is fairly active over Bangladesh and moderately active over North Bay, it added.
However, the day and night temperatures may remain nearly unchanged over the country.
The country's maximum temperature on Monday was recorded to be 34.5 degrees Celsius at Chuadanga and Tuesday's minimum temperature of 24.5 degrees Celsius was at Tetulia.

The highest rainfall during the last 24 hours till 6:00am Tuesday was recorded at 131 mm in Mongla.
The sun will set at 6:50pm Tuesday and rise at 5:14am Wednesday in Dhaka.
