Meteorological station inaugurated at JU

The Department of Geological Sciences in Jahangirnagar University has inaugurated a meteorological station. 

JU Vice-Chancellor Prof Md Nurul Alam inaugurated the station at a function on Monday.

Chairman of the Geological Sciences Department Shakhawat Hossain presided over the function. At the same time, Prof Toru Terao of Japan's Kagawa University, and faculties of the Geological Sciences department, among others, were present.

Addressing the function, JU VC Prof Nurul Alam said, "The installation of the meteorological station will be a remarkable addition to increase the academic and research excellence of the department and the university."

Teachers, researchers and students will be able to collect data and information regarding weather, environment, wind direction/speed, and atmospheric conditions and store the data on the server.
